There is hope in the future as seen through the eyes of the Bahá’is in every continent of the world. The new year encourages us to look at ways of creating a world that decreases disunity and discord, a world built on collective consultation for the betterment of everyone who lives on this planet.

“The Year in Review 2025” Bahá’i World News, December 27, 2025, documented a story of events happening right now to generate hope and a path to resilience; one that sees a bright future for the citizens of this planet, especially the children upon whose shoulders resides the promise of world peace.

As Bahá’is move to greater understanding of the nature of possibilities they recognize the explicit need to change structures to live together peacefully. They have formed interesting and thoughtful insights to share with the world.

The focus of most discussions is about how we can reshape our world through service. “A new story is taking shape — quietly and patiently — through the efforts of people learning, in the midst of daily life, how to walk a path of service together.” It is by promoting service to each other that we build community. Being an active part of our local or national community disrupts the tendency for frustration that leads to violence.

Facing our challenges together brings us closer to each other by creating bonds that promote possibilities. “Throughout the world, as the spirit of service takes root, a change becomes visible in how people respond to difficulty. When challenges arise, they no longer ask, “How can I get away from this?” but rather, “How can we face this together?”

Indeed, we must reshape the structures of our society including how we envision the concept of family. With so many people spread across the globe celebrating our nuclear families is not enough. We must celebrate our global families. “Families, too, are being reimagined, not as solitary households, but as a supporting network serving side by side.”

Laying aside our reliance on competition to get things done means that we can take a renewed look at the role of leadership. Competition for power and control fosters disunity and discord. “…the very notion of leadership itself is being reconceptualized as a sacred trust, an act of humble service.”

“The more we turn outward and work with others, the better we grasp the meaning of our common humanity.”  We realize the power of unity and justice. We are all part of one human family. Together we can build a better world. “Wherever people gather to learn, to decide, and to build, they increasingly discover themselves as protagonists in a joint story of progress.”

In 2026 there is hope and the promise of a better world.
